Keith’s Statement on the Exhibition and Workshop Process:

Mother and child - I was touched by some of the women who take their motherhood responsibility even to the workplace, taking their babies to work and breastfeeding them during their breaks. They share a strong bond with their children, nurturing them even as they work. In some instances it might be an issue of not being able to afford to employ a childminder or bottle-feed the babies, but it shows their outstanding love and sacrifice. It was also inspiring how they were showing strength, managing to be mothers to their babies and at the same time being in the driver's seat. This is what captivated me when we visited Wedza.

Also, because women go through a lot of challenges in married life when they are fully depending on their husbands, where you find many cases of domestic violence over household finances...it’s empowering for women to do work that gives them daily income and makes them become independent.
